Support services (cleaning and kitchen services)
The Support Services unit includes the municipality's kitchen and cleaning services. In addition to the support services manager, the unit employs four cleaners, three cooks and two cook-cleaners.
Karvia Municipality has a production kitchen located at the comprehensive school Opinpollu. The distribution kitchens are located at the daycare center Kissankimallus. In addition to lunch, the production kitchen prepares breakfast for the morning activities, as well as snacks for the afternoon activities and for the school students. The daycare centers' breakfasts and snacks are prepared on site. Approximately 340 lunch portions are prepared per day, of which approximately 95 portions are delivered daily to the distribution kitchens at Kissankimallus and to the municipal office staff. Approximately 100 other meals are prepared per day.
Municipal properties include schools, offices, sports facilities and other premises that are in continuous use and require cleaning according to a separately agreed schedule. Cleaning activities are arranged flexibly in cooperation with other users of the premises. Both cleaning and kitchen work are dimensioned and the number of personnel is based on the dimensioning result.
