This is how you ask for, find and give help safely and easily in Karvia
The municipality of Karvia is strangely cozy – a Finnish municipality of shared activities. Now asking for help and helping others is even more convenient and easier than ever. In collaboration with Commun, the municipality of Karvia is bringing a free phone application to its residents, which you can also use from your laptop.
On Commu, you can find, for example, a jogging companion, a chat buddy, a helping hand for volunteer work, or a foster home for a pet. You can also offer to help, for example by offering a ride, peer support, or a helping hand with yard work. See more information here:
How to get started with Commu application:
- Download Commu to your phone from your app store, i.e. from the App Store or from the Google Play StoreIf you want to use Commu on a computer or iPad, join via this link >
- Create a free account with your email.
- You are ready to help and ask for help! Create your own ad on Commu, where you give or ask for help. If you don't create an ad, no one will find you on Commu.
- Tip: You can also verify your identity in Commu with bank authentication or a mobile certificate. This way your neighbors know that you are a real and trustworthy person. You can also check other people's profiles.

Who built the Commune?
Commun is founded by a team of young entrepreneurs from Tampere. Karoliina Kauhanen, Sami Ekmark and Ronnie Nygren founded Commun in late 2021 because they wanted to make asking for and giving help easier. Commun aims to reduce loneliness and isolation, and increase community and coping in everyday life. The Commun app is free to download and easy to use.
