Comprehensive school gymnasium
Karvia Comprehensive School has a 140 square meter gymnasium that can be used as a gym for various small groups. There are washing and shower facilities next to the gym. Principal Mervi Ranta is responsible for the daytime use of the gymnasium at the comprehensive school, and welfare manager Sirpa Ala-Rämi is responsible for the evening use.

Karvia sports field
The sports field located in Kirkonkylä is a combined athletics and ball field. The central field, made of crushed coal, serves as the municipality's baseball field, and a sand artificial turf batting cage was installed in 1999.
The athletics field is surrounded by a 350-meter-long red brick crushed stone running track with four lanes. There are six running lanes on the front straight. Next to the field is a 90-meter-long Novotan-coated running track, with a long jump area at one end and a pole vault area at the other. Other athletics venues are located on the crushed stone field.
Kirkonkylä ball field
Right next to the sports field and the comprehensive school is a 60m x 100m ball field, which is also used as an ice skating rink in winter. The ball field has eliminated the overloading of sports facilities, facilitated physical education in comprehensive schools, and responded more comprehensively to the demand for sports services from residents and hobby groups. The ball field enables the implementation of national-level competitions and matches in football, baseball, and ice hockey.
A local sports venue in the city centre
Behind the comprehensive school is a 2100-square-meter year-round multi-purpose and hobby field, completed in 2003, which adapts to different hobby needs according to the users. The asphalted multi-purpose field has space for badminton and basketball in addition to two tennis courts. There is also a beach volleyball court in the immediate vicinity of the field. In winter, ice hockey rinks are erected on the site and the space is actively used for skating, serving the needs of both schoolchildren and residents of the municipality.
Sports field maintenance building
Between the sports field and the ball field is a common maintenance building for the sports areas, which was completed in 1989. In addition to shower and toilet facilities, the maintenance building, which is just under 200 square meters, also has an announcement room and office space facing both fields, as well as a functioning kiosk. The maintenance building has approximately 60 square meters of cold storage space for sports equipment. The maintenance building also serves as a storage area for the sports services health kiosk.
Beach volleyball courts
There are four beach ball courts in Karvia; at the Kirkkojärvi public beach in Willelä, at the local sports centre, at the Torro hobby centre and in the yard of the Skantzi cultural centre. The courts were completely renovated in 2025 and are freely available to both local residents and occasional tourists.
Lighted sports trails
There are a total of five kilometers of illuminated fitness trails in the various villages of Karvia, which are in use all year round. In the summer, the fitness trails are used by walkers, joggers and Nordic walkers. In the winter, the illuminated trails are filled with cross-country skiers. Ski trail maintenance
The municipality procures ski trail services from private service providers. In winters with good snow, the sports services maintain ski trails of varying lengths of 3-15 km in different villages and provide daily information about the ski trail conditions via the Karvia sports services Facebook pages.
Beaches
There are four public beaches in Karvia. A recreation area has been built on the shore of Lake Kirkkojärvi in the center of Karvia, where in addition to the beach, there is the possibility of camping and carpet washing. There are also public beaches in Sarvela, Sara and In Neva-Lyly.
Hockey rinks
Kirkonkylä has two lighted ice hockey rinks for use by schoolchildren and local residents.
Orienteering area
The updated orienteering map of Karvia city centre 1:7500 is ready for use. A fixed control network has been created around Leijonametsä and the city centre road, which is very suitable for schoolchildren, fitness enthusiasts and family exercisers. The map motivates all nature walkers and tourists to exercise. The large map is on display on the wall of the maintenance building (Sampolantie 11). The maps have been duplicated in the box of the Leijonametsä information board and are available from the town hall on weekdays from 8 am to 15.45 pm. Kayaking routes
In 1992, the Tampere Water and Environmental District commissioned a guide to the Karvianjoki River watersheds, which is in the form of a handout. The Karvianjoki river basin is a diverse combination of native nature and cultural landscape. The Karvianjoki route, which includes the Karvianjoki, Noormarkunjoki and Eteläjoki rivers, is 150 km long, but it can be divided into day trips of suitable length. A suitable day trip would be, for example, from Karvia Kirkkojärvi to the Jyll camp center, which is 33 km long.
Riding stables
Welcome to the idyllic rural landscapes of Karvia in Northern Satakunta, where there are two riding stables that promote horse riding. Rajakallio Horse Riding Stables is located in Karviankylä.
Rajakallio Riding Stables has a peaceful stable atmosphere and everyone is warmly welcomed to join us. We invest in the general cleanliness, comfort and safety of our premises. We are a hobby stable approved by the Finnish Equestrian Association. Our horses are kind and suitable for teaching. Traditional riding lessons take place on a fenced and illuminated 1250 square meter sand field, where you can also come with your own horse. In addition to riding stables, Karvia has an active association for horse and dog enthusiasts, Karvian Hevosharrastajat (KarHes ry).
Snowmobile trails
The Karvia snowmobile route was created and maintained by the Karvia Snowmobile Association.
Karvia snowmobile enthusiasts work actively with similar organizations in neighboring municipalities and are preparing a regional snowmobile route. The club members also engage in competitive activities, organizing competitions and participating in national sprint and snowcross competitions.

Karvia Motor Circuit
The Karvia Motor Track, completed in 2000, offers an excellent setting for national-level competitions in the everyman class. The track is 830 meters long in total and has a 70-meter asphalt starting slab. The track also serves as an excellent training ground for snowmobile riders. In 2004, the Karvia Track Association built an impressive judges' tower in the area.
