Sports services
The task of the sports department is to plan and develop local sports venues and to encourage and motivate people to use them. The goal is to arouse the interest of the municipality's residents in everyday and health-related exercise and to create the skills to take responsibility for their own health and lifestyle. The dream of Satakunta's most active municipality is to reach all age groups and coordinate sports advice, lifestyle guidance and group exercise for them equally, according to their needs and wishes, especially taking into account special groups.
The sports ministry has a long tradition and sustainable structures of local cooperation with third sector partnerships, communities and entrepreneurs. Sports campaigns, such as challenge cycling, have been refined into something social and enjoyable. Competitive sports are supported both indirectly and directly with grants, as well as village communities that develop sports facilities in their villages.
Exercise belongs to everyone project
The sports department has applied for and received a local development grant for a physical lifestyle of 9000 euros, with total costs of 18 euros. The first project year will last from 288 January to 1.1 December 2026. The goal of the three-year cross-administrative and committed cooperation network is to create operating conditions for the implementation of applied physical activity in the locality and to develop, improve awareness and accessibility of applied physical activity services. In addition, it promotes equal physical activity opportunities for everyone, regardless of functional ability, illness, disability or life situation. Applied physical activity supports physical, mental and social well-being, strengthens functional ability and promotes independent coping in everyday life. Individually adapted physical activity solutions will be implemented for the target group, in which the environment, equipment and guidance are adapted to the needs of the participants. The focus of 31.12.2026 is on improving the conditions for winter sports.

The tray contains all group exercise activities organized in the municipality. Low-threshold guidance activities are marked in blue-red so that those making lifestyle changes, special groups and those looking for adapted exercise can find their own hobby group more easily. This is also a health promotion tool, part of the exercise service chain, which professionals in the welfare area and those coordinating lifestyle changes can use when distributing exercise prescriptions.
