The task of the preventive substance abuse work, which coordinates the municipality's welfare services, is to activate the residents of the municipality and encourage healthy lifestyles through various campaigns, and to organize preventive substance abuse education cross-administratively with both the regional and local welfare working group. Karvia also has a long tradition of cooperation with third sector actors and health services. The focus of preventive substance abuse work is on children and young people, but also on all residents of the municipality, taking into account the entire human life cycle. The goal of the health exercise groups is to share current health information, to make the residents wake up and take responsibility for their own health and lifestyle.
