Library services
Karvia Library was founded in 1873. The current library building was opened on July 28, 1993. The library building was designed by the architectural firm Jyrki Jääskeläinen Oy from Seinäjoki.
Karvia Library is part of the Satakunta public library association Sata Libraries, founded in 2009. The libraries have a common customer and collection database and common rules of use.
The self-service library was put into use on December 18, 2023.

Services
In addition to books, maps and magazines, you can borrow various audio and video recordings from the library.
The library has just under 40,000 books, over a thousand DVDs, console, board and party games, music, audiobooks, foreign language literature and other materials. The library also arranges loans from other libraries through the Sata Libraries cooperation and remote service. Reservations from other Sata Libraries are free of charge. Remote service outside of Sata Libraries is charged
payment according to the price list.
Hundreds of libraries in the online library can browse the material, make reservations, new loans, pay fees, etc. The online library also contains links and instructions for the libraries of the Hundred Libraries. e-materials, which include, among others: rockway (music courses), Cineast (movie streaming service), Promentor (language courses) and Naxos (mainly classical music). E-books, e-audiobooks and e-magazines from Satakirystyri can be found on the national From the e-library.
To use online services, except for information retrieval, you need a library card and a 4-digit PIN code, which you can get from the library by proving your identity. The same PIN code is used to log in to the self-service library and use the automatic lending machine. Using the e-library does not require a library card, but is activated with strong identification (e.g. bank codes).
Digital versions of newspapers can be read in the library. ePress- through the newspaper service. In ePress, you can read, for example, the newspapers published during the weekend on your own time, as well as about a hundred newspapers that are not available in the library in any other form.
The library can register as a state special library. celian as a customer. The free service is intended only for people with reading disabilities, i.e. people who have difficulty reading a regular book. Such disabilities can include, for example, dyslexia, attention deficit disorder, memory impairment, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, aphasia and visual impairment.
You can also borrow sports equipment (including snowshoes) and outdoor games from the library. Sports equipment from the health kiosk can be arranged to be picked up from the library, except bicycles.

Hundreds of libraries have in common maksutPrintouts and photocopies cost €0,50/page.
The customer can receive a free due date reminder by email 1-5 days before the due date.
