Central municipal election board
The municipal central election board is responsible for organizing national and municipal elections.
The municipal council elects the members of the Central Election Board.
In addition to the Central Election Board, the Election Board and the Election Committee participate in organizing the elections, the members and deputy members of each of which are elected by the municipal government.

City audit committee
The council shall appoint an audit committee to organize the audit of the administration and finances for the years corresponding to its term of office.
The chairman and vice-chairman of the board must be authorized.
The Audit Committee must prepare matters concerning administrative and financial auditing to be decided by the council, and assess whether the operational and financial objectives set by the council have been achieved.
Organizing an inspection
The council shall appoint an audit committee pursuant to subsection 1 to organize an audit of administration and finances.
This arrangement includes, among other things, organizing a tender for the selection of an auditor and determining the audit score.
According to Section 73.2 of the Act, the auditor must follow specific instructions issued by the council and the audit committee, provided that they do not conflict with the law, the municipal management rules or good auditing practice.
The audit committee can be considered to have political responsibility for the proper implementation of the audit.
The matters discussed by the board do not include the auditor's audit plan and the work programs that specify it.
The auditor may discuss their content with the audit committee.

Committee on education
The Education Board is responsible for administration, comprehensive school, preschool, other education, community college and library services, and, as a new feature, early childhood education.
Primary school and administration
The goal of the Karvia School System is to raise young people with healthy self-esteem and who are striving to progress, who will complete the basic education curriculum during their compulsory education. They should have the knowledge and skills to achieve a place in further education that is sufficiently demanding for their own development and abilities, where they would complete at least a secondary education degree.
Preschool education
The operating principle of preschool education is to provide integrated teaching and upbringing in collaboration with homes, taking into account the individual development of the student. Teaching is provided in the year before compulsory education begins. The teaching must be organized by the municipality, but the guardian decides on participation.
Other education (basic art education and music)
Basic art education is a long-term, versatile hobby activity, which is divided into basic studies and advanced studies. The purpose of basic art studies is to develop children and young people's visual expression, knowledge and skills, as well as critical evaluation of the flood of information. In Karvia, it is implemented as a purchased service from Petäjä College.
Adult Education Center
The goal of the civic college is to provide residents with opportunities for meaningful hobbies and studies.
Petäjä College organizes studies in Karvia.
Library work
The mission of library services is to satisfy the general need for education, information and recreation, and to support studying and independent information acquisition, as well as the enjoyment of literature and art.

Welfare committee
The Welfare Board is responsible for: sports activities, preventive substance abuse work, youth activities, cultural activities and museum activities.
Sports SERVICES
The task of the Sports Department is to plan and develop new sports facilities, to be responsible for the maintenance, care and use of sports facilities under its control, and to encourage residents of the municipality to engage in healthy physical activity and to take care of voluntary physical activity through various activities.
In addition, the sports department supports both directly and indirectly local associations engaged in physical education work and village communities developing the physical education conditions in their villages.
PREVENTIVE DRUNK WORK
The task of the abstinence service is to activate and encourage residents to adopt healthy lifestyles and to organize preventive substance abuse education in the community together with partners and the municipal substance abuse working group.
Youth SERVICES
The task of youth work is to improve the living conditions and recreational opportunities of young people and to create conditions for local youth activities.
CultureSERVICES
The task of the Cultural Department is to support and develop the municipality's cultural and local history work and to be responsible for the care and maintenance of the local history museum and the open-air museum area.
MuseumSERVICES
The aim of Karvia's museum activities is to preserve the Karvia local tradition by maintaining the local museum and the outdoor museum area.

Technical committee
The Technical Committee is responsible for the municipality's own construction, construction, property maintenance and operation tasks, and municipal technical work.
The board's jurisdiction includes technical administration and planning, building construction, traffic routes and public areas, fixed structures and equipment, real estate and commercial establishments.
In addition, the board's area of responsibility includes private information, which includes the distribution of municipal subsidies, advisory work, inspections and other decisions required by the Private Roads Act.
